Xavier Beaten By Temple, 85-72

In Philadelphia on February 11th the Musketeers were beaten by the Owls in A-10 play, 85-72.

Long story short, the Musketeers just couldn't ward off a disaster. Last year, Xavier won 88-77. Over the last four years, the Musketeers have a record of 2-4 with a record of 0-3 at Liacouras Center. Since 1980, the Xavier record against Temple is 9-13.

Temple beat Xavier big in offensive rebounding and came out ahead in three pointers.

Temple was too powerful at the basket, with 18 offensive rebounds to only eight by Xavier. Temple got too many quick points off threes, with 27 points of its total coming from three-point range and 18 points for Xavier.

Terrell Holloway played hard for the Musketeers with 23 points in 33 minutes.

The Musketeers now drop to 16-9. They fall to 7-4 and remain in 3rd place in the A-10. They're now 2-6 against the RPI Top 50 (Temple #22).

The next team up is Dayton at home on February 18th.
